How can we bridge the gap between climate science, climate economics and the elite solutions from the COP process with the lived realities of the masses of the people who are already living under climate change and have everyday mitigation and adaptation experiences that go uncaptured, unaudited and un-acknowledged by the elite? For the masses of the landless, the jobless - climate change remains like HIV/AIDS and other problems of huge proportion that have helped the rich to become richer while they get poorer. How does ugogo ma Vezi, eMpongompongweni, link her daily experiences to climate change? How does she benefit from the climate justice movement? how can her voice be brought to bearing at the COP process? The COP process is for the United Nations. Whose UN is it anyway? Where has it acted in the interest of the masses?
