GDP, environmental and social indicators

In August 2009, the European Union released the Communication ‘GDP and beyond: Measuring progress in a changing world’, which outlines the need to develop a comprehensive environmental index to complement the current measure of economic activity – the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). A pilot version of this index is due to be presented in 2010.

What is the Climate Change Media Partnership?

Thank you for visiting or joining the Climate Change Media Partnership's Roster of Experts.



Internews, Panos and the International Institute for Environment and Development created the CCMP in 2007 to support journalists from the global South to report on climate change accurately and in ways that are relevant to their local audiences.
