Matthias' role as the keynote speaker at the Green Solutions for Property
Development in May 2010 being Malaysia's First Carbon Neutral Property
Development Conference helped spurred the Malaysian property developers,
architects, engineers and property consultants to go green and mitigate the
climate change. The evidence is found in the increasing property developments
incorporating more green features and also changing the market mindset.

Through his involvement as a facilitator at workshops, initiator of community eco
initiatives such as condo recycling system and tree planting initiatives, green
ambassador and moderator at forums,
Matthias has been transforming businesses to embark the green path. Using
communication tools with new technologies, incorporating social media that offers
borderless virtual information access to the world via existing networks, Matthias
has been contributing significantly through the best way he knows- using the
power of communication, technology, media and electronic social media to inspire
younger people towards doing green action and living a green lifestyle.
Matthias’ continuous drive and personal initiative to educate people through
speaking engagements including to real estate agents, government, consultation
to a number of property companies, published articles, direct participation at social
or community events, has definitely created an impact in promoting the green
agenda in our nascent Malaysian green real estate scene since 2006.
His focus areas have been environmental management and CSR over the last 15
years. He was given the Greenest Person on the Planet award in 2008 by
3rdwhale.com and he was named one of the Men of the Year in Malaysia by the
Magazine Clive.
Some of the efforts undertaken by Matthias to enlighten the public would include
contribution of articles to various magazines such as Home Finders Magazine, the
leading real estate magazine read by most developers and property players in
Malaysia, contributor for ESQUIRE magazine (Malaysia), and being featured in
the media frequently such as BFM radio, ASTRO Awani TV, etc.
Currently, Green Business JV with the Green Man is featured weekly on the “Go
Green breakfast TV show” Monday mornings on RTM2 featuring “Green Business

Some background details about the Green Man; Matthias earned a Master’s in
Environmental Science & Legislation in the United Kingdom, then moved on to
start his own environmental consulting company dealing with sustainability issues
relating to the natural environment of the planet. He served in the past as a
member on the board of INEM (the International Network of Environmental
Management) and the ARPSCP (the Asian Pacific Roundtable of Sustainable
Consumption and Cleaner Production).
