Please summarise your areas of climate-change expertise (in terms of subjects and geographical areas)
The social, environmental and economic dimensions of Land and in South Africa, Africa, and globally.

Land is the word we use to describe the surface of planet Earth which we inhabit. It includes all natural resources found in or on that surface. It is the foundation of the ecosystem that supports all life including our own, and it's the place where the climate changes are occurring.

At Land Justice we believe the totality of current human interaction with the land is unsustainable. A radical and complete alternative is required. In the process we can end hunger, poverty and war. Land is at the heart of all three. Without a radical alternative in human land use we will continue to drive our own destruction through worsening climate changes.

We have electronic and print databases on all aspects of land, land reform, land use and related which we are very happy to share with anyone.

Since 1998 I have been practically involved in land rights and land access issues in South Africa. This includes a community office providing paralegal advise and support to the victims of illegal evictions in the area around Hartbeespoort dam.

I have also researched through various media all articles, research reports opinion pieces etc relating to land in South Africa, SADC and pan Africa. The research covers all the social( including political), environmental and economic dimensions of land, land reform and land use, specifically including the role of land use in climate change and adaption and mitigation. Journalists and any other interested people are welcome to contact us for research materials and info on civil society, government, state, and private sector stakeholders in land.

On the 15th & 16th October 2013 the third Clean Technology business and investment matchmaking conference for the African continent is to be held at the Killarney Country Club, Lower Houghton South Africa.

Called Viridis Africa, the event is dedicated to entrepreneurs and corporates who are seeking funding to introduce clean technology solutions and services.

Principals who would present their business opportunities at this event would have the audience of numerous local and foreign investors, stratified according to their interest and investment criteria.

Investors would include venture capital, private equity, project and corporate finance outfits and project developers dedicated to the cleantech sector. They would also include North American, European funding agencies, major Asian industrial conglomerates, technology specific investment funds and major companies who seek strategic alliance and acquisitions.

Entrepreneurs from all over Africa are invited to submit a business plan for inclusion in the programme. Interested parties can mail their cleantech proposals to suza@viridisafrica.com
