'm focused on bridging business and environmental objectives in addressing climate change, including 20 years working with companies to anticipate and plan for both the risks and opportunities of a carbon-constrained world. In evaluating climate policy at any level we need to ask the question facing climatographers, namely "how well will it work, and can we do better?"

Carbon offset markets, for example, have been a focus of mine for many years, but they are not an "end" in and of themselves. They are a means to an environmental end, and if we're going to use them we have to make sure we're truly advancing climate change mitigation efforts. That's the only way to accomplish both business and environmental objectives, and unfortunately we haven't done a great job to date.
