I am a professor of public policy with a particular focus on urban sustainability. I have published primarily on North American efforts at sustainable planning in metropolitan regions and am especially concerned with matters of suburban sprawl.

I am currently engaged in a research project looking at how cities in North America are minimizing their carbon footprint and am also interested in how local authorities in both the North and Global South engage in the COP process.
