I am a freelance Science writer, broadcaster, researcher and science teacher. I hold Master’s degree in Environment along with Diploma in Science Journalism and Diploma in Education. I am fluent in English, Hindi and Odia. I have been contributing regularly to a variety of prominent Odia news papers, magazines and compilations since 1993. Over the past one and half decade, I wrote more than 500 articles for various news papers and magazines. I have also contributed to 38 radio programmes broadcast by All India Radio, Sambalpur. I have authored 8 books on popular science. I have written on subjects as diverse as the Telescope, Missiles, Supercomputers, DNA and Climate Change. I am a life Member of 17 organizations including Indian Science Writers’ Association (ISWA), New Delhi and National Centre For Science Communicators (NCSC), Mumbai. As a researcher in science communication, I presented 13 research papers on science communication in various conferences including PCST-2010 held in New Delhi. My research papers were selected for presentation in PCST-2008, WCEJ-2009 and HSCI-2009. I have had privillege of participating a number of seminars on science communication. I received fellowship to participate the Media 21 workshop on climate Change-III held in Geneva followed by fieldtrip to Songhai, Benin. Besides I have received fellowships to participate ICSC-2000 and IFEJ-2009. Recently I was selected to cover the 98th India Science Congress. Thanks to my efforts towards science popularization, I won five prestigious awards including ISWA national award in 2006.
