Hi there - I am the Communications and Canadian Director of The Registry and would provide access to our Executive Director, Denise Sheehand and Executive VP, Robyn Camp. We will all be at COP16, travelling with a small delegation that includes US states. Denise and Robyn are experts with respect to North American carbon policy, and given our Board of Directors is made up of states and provinces we are particularly well-versed in sub-national policy.

We also have extensive expertise with respect to GHG accounting and management and, more broadly, to measurement, reporting and verification.
The Registry is the only voluntary GHG reporting program in North America endorsed by 41 US states and DC, all the Canadian provinces and territories, six Mexican states and four Native Sovereign Nations. The Registry's program is based on the WRI/WBCSD GHG Protocol, and our protocols have been referenced in the EPA Mandatory Reporting Program and the Congress bills. Over 430 organizations from across North America use The Registry's program to measure and manage their GHG emissions with integrity.

In addition, The Registry:
- Is on the international Carbon Disclosure Standards Board
- Is partnering with iCET to develop a China registry
- Has served as a resource on GHG reporting to India, Brazil, and Mexico, among others
- Is an accredited NGO to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)
- Is working with the World Resources Institute (WRI) on developing a North American Scope 3 reporting standard

Dear Alexandra,
seeing in this tool that you are working on climate finance issues, we would like to invited you to join our discussions at our Side Event tomorrow:

Breaking the Funding Deadlock:
Creating new money to finance the renewable energy transition
1 December 2010, 16:45-18:15, Room: Águila
The WFC Future Finance Commission proposes to finance the renewable energy transition in less industrialized countries with the issuance of new SDRs, that means funds would be interest and debt free... More details can be read in the attached the background discussion paper, FAQ and executive summary. Stefan Biskamp (WFC Future Finance Director) will be at your personal disposal for Q&As, also via stefan.biskamp@worldfuturecouncil.org

We would be delighted to cooperate with you and get your feedback and comments on our work. If you have any further questions, feel free to contact me. Thank you very much,
Anna
